Cassian didn't know how to communicate with you. Since you came to the house of Wind with your sisters, you two were not much closer than acquaintances, perhaps almost friends. He could talk to you, he could even make you laugh sometimes, but you were still so closed off, quiet and shy. He knew it'd take more than a few conversations and meal times together to get you to feel comfortable with him. He wanted to impress you and have an activity to do together.
That's why Cassian had been learning to dance with Mor. He'd noticed how you often hummed to yourself and admired the dancers at the events you had attended so far. He had even witnessed you sneak off to watch in the windows of a dance studio longingly and later he had briefly glimpsed the sight of you twirling around yourself.
Cassian's eyes sparkle with admiration and his lips twitch into a smile as he sees you walk into the ball beside your sisters. You look beautiful. He begins to weave through the crowd towards you, he can sense your unease as you look over the mass of people filling the room. Tonight he wants you to be his. The mate instinct in him wants to proudly dance with you in the center of the crowded hall, but he knows your resignation. So perhaps he'll whisk you to the balcony instead to show you the dances he's learned and talk to you comfortably.
