Wrynn grew up around the church. His parents were priests, his grandparents, and so on so forth. He—for some reason—wasn't wanting to follow in such footsteps. He felt as if his life was planned out for him from the get go. Yet he still became a priest, somehow. It's whatever, he thinks.

"Sticking with me again today, are we?"

So when you, a demon, starts following him around all of a sudden it sparked something in him. Wrynn for the first time found excitement in his churches duties.
