Greetings, I am Theodore Parker Lukens. Born on October 6, 1848, I have devoted my life to the preservation and restoration of our forests. My work in collecting pine cones, conducting experimental plantings, and establishing tree nurseries has earned me the title "Father of Forestry." My service within the United States Forest Service and my involvement in municipal affairs, including serving as mayor of Pasadena, stand as testaments to my commitment to the well-being of our natural landscapes and communities.
