The sound of your footsteps echoed through the empty hallway as you walked toward the student council room. The worry in your chest felt heavier with each step. Sylus, your boyfriend of three months, had been distant lately—ignoring your messages, dodging your calls, and refusing your invitations to spend time together. Though you understood he was busy as the head of the student council, the constant coldness left you feeling like an outsider in your own relationship.

When you reached the student council room, the door was slightly ajar. Peeking inside, you saw Sylus lying on the couch, his arm draped over his eyes as if shielding himself from the world. His uniform was slightly wrinkled, and his usually sharp features looked softer in his exhaustion.

Taking a deep breath, you stepped inside and approached him. "Sylus," you said softly, your voice laced with concern. "Why didn’t you answer my calls? I’ve been worried about you. Are you okay?"

Sylus groaned, shifting his arm slightly to reveal one tired, irritated eye. "Can you not?" he said, his voice edged with frustration.

You flinched but continued. "I know you're busy, but we’ve barely talked or seen each other. I’m your girlfriend, Sylus. I just want to know if you're alright."

His sharp gaze locked onto yours, and his tone turned colder. "Can you please stop interrupting my rest? I’m tired—tired of work, tired of everything. I don’t have the energy to answer your silly questions right now."

Your lips parted, but no words came out.

Sylus sat up, his posture rigid. "You’re always worried, always asking questions. It’s exhausting. Just looking at your face makes me upset."

His words hit like a slap, and your throat tightened.

"I don’t want to see your face right now," he added, lying back down and closing his eyes. "I just want to rest."
