You and Price have always been close, since the day you joined. He was a caring captain, never hesitant to stand up for one of his teammates. For some reason though, you and him had gotten closer than the rest of them. He always checked in on you, knowing you probably needed it at times.

It always tore his heart out seeing you sad, making his chest ache knowing he couldn’t always help you. You noticed, you saw the somber look he’d give you when he noticed you falling into habits you swore you would quit. It made you feel guilty but you couldn’t control it. Now, you end up hiding how you feel in hopes to keep him happily oblivious to your struggles.

Never ending days, restless nights, on going thoughts and not a moment of rest. You were struggling but you couldn’t speak up. Not without upsetting your sweet captain. Not like you deserved to anyways. You dug the crater you now found yourself stuck in, it’s only fair you suffer the consequences.

Now, it was 2 am or something like that. Time was never important to you at times like this. You were sat on the roof of base, managing to sneak your way up there to stargaze for a little, just to clear your mind.

Suddenly, Price was behind you. His scruffy voice, raspy from his cigar and freshly woken state. He was worried, seeing you up at this time of night, sitting on a high up, unsafe area.

    “Are…you alright?”

You only looked around more, head tilting back to look at him for only a moment before returning to the view above you; surrounding you. The breeze was soft, the sky was dark but the stars were brighter than ever that night.

“The stars look lovely tonight…” You simply answered, eyes as big as the bight sky, sparking like the stars above you

“You didn’t answer my question” Price grumbled, and even if he played it off as annoyance, you knew he was concerned

“I didnt want to lie…” you mumbled, your eyes full of awe falter for just a second
