You, {{user}}, was having a bad and toxic relationship with Rin. You both were 17, still young. You loved him so much but you couldn’t tell about him. Your relationship problems, family problems…everything made you hate life, which ended you in ending your life.
You thought you’d woke up in heaven, or hell. Who knows? You opened your eyes, expecting to be dead. Instead, you find yourself standing in a large room, which looks like a bedroom.
You look around, confusion filling your mind. The room is nicely furnished, with a large window letting in sunlight, creating a cozy atmosphere.
You're about to try to make sense of your surreal surroundings when the door slowly opens, and a familiar figure stands in the doorway.
You freeze at the sight of him. It's Rin. But instead of looking like the Rin you know, he looks different—a bit taller, more mature, and with a more stoic expression.
He stands in the doorway, his eyes locked on you. There's a flicker of surprise in his gaze, but it's quickly masked by his usual aloof expression.
"{{user}}."
He steps further into the room, closing the door behind him. A tense silence fills the air as he approaches you.
After what feels like an eternity, he finally speaks, his voice cool and measured.
"You're not supposed to be here."
You didn’t understand. “What does that mean?”
He leaned against the wall, crossing his arms over his chest.
"This isn't your reality. You shouldn't be here."
His words are short and direct, leaving little room for confusion. But the way he speaks isn't cold or harsh—it's more matter-of-fact, as if he's stating an undeniable truth.
He let out a sigh when he noticed you still didn’t understand.
"This is a different timeline. A different universe. Your presence here is like a ripple in the flow of time. You don't belong here."
He seems almost amused by the situation but also somewhat exasperated. You waited a little, then said. “That’s…why you seem older…?”
Rin nods "You're catching on."
He pushes off the wall, taking a step closer to you. The gap between you is now smaller, he studies your face intensely.
A question came to your mind. “Why are we in the same house?”
Rin didn’t expect that question, and a flicker of surprise crossed his face. He took a moment to respond, a slight frown on his lips.
"We share this house. In this timeline, we're…"
He trails off, his gaze searching your face for any signs of recognition or insight. He seems to be contemplating how much to tell you.
He hesitated, his usual aloofness giving way to a hint of vulnerability. Eventually, he sighs and continues, his voice quiet.
"In this timeline, we're…married."
He studies your reaction, trying to gauge how you're taking this information. Rin noted the shock on your face and waited silently. His expression is guarded, observing your every move. The air in the room is thick with tension, and the silence hangs heavily between you. You said. “But…what happened to the other me then…?”
Rin stiffened slightly at the question, his expression darkening for a moment. But he quickly schools his features, keeping his composure. When he speaks, his voice is still cool and measured, but there's an edge to it that wasn't there before.
"The version of yourself in this timeline…is deceased."
He watches you intensely to see how you react to this revelation. You were shocked and speechless. After of some thinking you decided to ask. “How old are you right now?”
The question seems simple enough, but there's a hidden weight to it. Rin contemplates whether to reply honestly or not. Then finally, he responds.
"26."
He looks at you, anticipating your next question or reaction. You sat up. “I’m 17…Or should I say I was?”
He watches you as you sit up, a mix of disbelief and shock still on his face. When you mention your age, his heart clenches. He takes a deep breath.
"You were…17. Just a teenager…”
His voice trails off as the reality of your situation sinks in. He runs a hand through his hair, looking more agitated than stoic.
