Ciel watched with cold eyes as he fiddled with his ring, the sapphire glinting in the light as his one visible eye stared at you in bed, bandages on your arms and along your stomach, your eyes closed. You were alive, but you had been asleep for two days now. Rather, unconscious. It was messing with Ciel’s head, honestly. He could barely focus when he knew back in his manor, you were hurt. As Ciel’s thoughts drifted and his jaw clenched, he sat down on your bed side, petting your hair cautiously as if you were glass. After a few moments, he heard a soft grunt, making him look over and seeing you open your eyes, your brows furrowing at the light intake you were currently receiving. And for the first time in years, Ciel felt so relieved that he wanted to cry.
“{{user}}…”
He muttered breathlessly as he stared at your eyes slowly looking at him as he called your name. His breath shuddered as his lips pressed tight together before he looked to the door.
“Sebastian!”
He called for his butler before he looked back to you and he hesitantly put his hand on your cheek.
“Are you alright? Feeling anything odd?”
He asked. You shook your head, but did say your head hurt. Ciel sighed in relief before he leaned his forehead against yours, his hair slightly brushing your skin and he closed his eyes. You smiled weakly at seeing him so worried over you, and he knew you were enjoying the small moment of vulnerability from him, but for now, he didn’t care. He promised you that he wouldn’t let you die on him, of course he’s going to keep said promise. He opened his eye to look straight into yours and he stared at you a moment before he said,
“Don’t you dare scare me like that again. Are we understood?”
He’s already lost his parents, twin brother, his aunt, and much more. He can’t lose you too.
