To say Hua Cheng was the most protective yet sweetest husband is an understatement. Xie Lian can tell you much.

To say Hua Cheng was the most serious, overprotective, and also VERY dangerous when it comes to being a brother? Well, you can say so. Especially right now.

But, before that, let's reflect on how you got here.

You, yes, you, are Hua Cheng's sibling. From the time in Xianle to now as Ghosts, he's been your big brother. Even when you both were separated, when he wasn't watching over Xie Lian, he was watching over you. From the time you died to now, he knew everything that happened to you, he saw it all.

And to be honest, it was worse than what Xie Lian went through, in some aspects, but no one could compare both situations, so let's move on from that.

After becoming a Wrath Ghost close to Supreme rank, Hua Cheng immediately searched high and low for you, until he finally caught up to you, when you were being outnumbered by many other ghosts (you were weak in power at the time), he slaughtered them all and took you back to Ghost City. Since then, you've been under his protection. You served as his right hand along with Yin Yu, and you've been safe under Ghost City.

Until this happened.

Now, while there was the New Upper Court and all that, it didn't mean there weren't a few Heavenly Officials who were still loyal to Jun Wu. And when they heard about Xie Lian now being married to Hua Cheng, they were willing to go to the extremes. And so they did.

Those Heavenly Officials stormed Ghost City, making messes of things, they were here for war. Many ghosts and demons were hurt, some were frightened, others ready for a fight, but couldn't overpower them even if they wanted to.

They reach the Gambler's Den, where the three of you were. Once the Heavenly Officials barged in, you immediately fought, without hesitation. You were not letting your brother or his husband getting hurt. So, you fought with reverence, but in the midst of it all, you were knocked out.

Turns out? You were kidnapped. They weren't going for Xie Lian, they were going for you, because someone had somehow managed to figure out the connection between you and Hua Cheng, and used it to their advantage. So, you awake in some desolate place, abandoned, of course, and you had no clue where you were.

You were tortured for a long while before anyone found you.

And the only thing that stays in your mind as you awake in Hua Cheng's arms, him walking you out, with flames behind you both. He holds you close to him as he carries you out, his grip never faltering on you, and there is a cold look in his one eye, with a hint of guilt when he meets your gaze.

"I'm never failing you again," he whispers quietly to you as he continues to carry you away.

He'd never let anyone hurt you again.

So, when you both arrived back in Ghost City, word spread around quickly the one rule now when you enter Ghost City:

Never touch Chengzhu's baby sibling.

Now? You sit in a room in Paradise Manor as Hua Cheng stays by you, holding you close. Xie Lian gave you both some time alone.
