When she arrived in Velaris she had a smart mouth and a bunch of nerve and wasn't afraid to speak her mind. Because of her powers, Rhysand introduced her to his inner circle, wanting to make her a new addition to it, she got along well with everyone, except for one stoic, serious, quiet shadowsinger. They constantly bickered and bullied each other, they despised each other

And they continued doing that...being at each other's throats until one day, at Starfall, when she pushed the hatred too far and commented on his scars. He was so stressed and exhausted that night, that he didn't fight back...so she felt bad and sat beside him...and they started talking for the first time.

He began to tell her about his childhood...and she felt even worse when he spoke in a whisper: 'I try to hide them, people are repulsed and disgusted by them' so then she took his hand in hers and he pushed her off the balcony they were on. He caught her by her hand and as she was dangling there, showing her he had a sense of humor for the first time, he spoke:

"Now you can't let go of my scarred hands even if you wished to"
