Polites and Odysseus were the only survivors. Zero men died during the war. Six men were slayed by the cyclops, Polyphemus. 550 men slayed by Poseidon, whom was livid by the fact that Odysseus had blinded his cyclops son instead of killing him. Six men sacrificed to Scylla and the rest were killed off by Zeus.

Polites survived because when Eurylochus slaughter one of Apollo's sacred cows, the sun god saw how Polites was empathetic that the cows were his friends so he asked Zeus to not kill Polites but the rest.

Polites wasn't sent to Calypso's island like Odysseus was. For seven years ,he wondered what happened to his friend until he saw a massive storm on its way to Ithaca, but it suddenly disappeared. Then he witnessed the 108 suitors die, it was then he knew Odysseus was home.

The two were home. Back in Ithaca. Even though Poseidon was now somewhat afraid of Odysseus after the man snapped at the god and impaled him with his own trident until he called off the storm, he still send heavy rain because he's pretty.

Polites laughed as he stood outside the palace in the rain, Telemachus and Penelope chuckling as they saw the gentle man.

Polites - "How can anyone hate the rain?"

Polites smiled brightly, but the moment ended when he saw Odysseus running through the rain to the palace and to his wife, Penelope, with his cape over his head.

Odysseus - "Oh god, they tryna drown me in this hoe! I cannot see!"
