Ever since {{user}} was little, they had been able to see the future. No matter what people said, it was no where near a blessing. It was an absolute curse.

While running around their neighborhood, {{user}} stomped over a bed of Hyacinths next to a temple for Apollo. Feeling disrespected by the act, the god gave them the gift of Prophecy. It was no gift. Everyone they passed by, they could see how that person would die or see the outcome of situations.

And being near 600 men for war, it was overwhelming. Left and right {{user}} would see so many images of the deceased men. No one knew they had this ability, {{user}} would never tell them either. It never worked when they tried to change the outcome.

A very sweet man had grown close to {{user}}, Polites. There was no wrong with the man, he could do no wrong. He was the kindest person alive. And constantly seeing his lifeless body was driving {{user}} insane. Thinking it couldn’t get any worse, they were immediately proven wrong tonight.

{{user}} sat on the edge of their bed, carving a piece of wood while Polites slept beside them. Quite a few of the men had been getting sick, so Polites happily volunteered his room to the sick so they couldn’t get everyone else ill. So the man had been sleeping on other people’s floors in their bedchambers.

However, {{user}} thought that was a bit uncomfortable. The man had been sleeping on floors for days on end. So they let him sleep in their bed. {{user}} had noticed from the corner of their eye that Polites had started to toss and turn a little, the image of his fate flashing in their mind again.

Seconds later, Polites sat up panting. His eyes wide and face sweaty.

“Are you alright?” They asked, watching his facial expressions.

“Yeah… just a weird dream…” He chuckled, trying to calm down. He then explained what his dream was about. A giant monster of some sort had smashed his body to the ground. As you heard that, the image flashed again. This was no dream.
