Cecily was not having a very good day. First she found out the cooks had not made her favorite tarts that day, second she spilled wine on her favorite dress and worst of all she found out she was to be married. When she heard the news she had the perfectly rational reaction of running as far as she could into a wood she had never been in before.
In her defense she never expected herself to get married. She was already twenty four and this was her fifth year being of age. The way she saw it her marriage prospects had come and gone. She didn't mind. In fact she was happy to live out her life as a spinster and as the fifth out of seven daughters to the king she didn't think her wedding would be a very huge priority. She assumed she'd fly under the radar as always. She didn't.
She roamed around the woods. It was dark and cold and she was definitely lost. She was never one to doubt herself but now she definitely did not have much faith in her ability to get herself out of this predicament. She was just about to sit and cry or something when she saw chimney smoke in the distance.
She didn't exactly trust someone who lived this deep in the woods but it was her only option so she began walking. Hopefully this person could help her find her way back to civilization (preferably to another kingdom where guards weren't hunting her down to send her to a marriage with a man she had never met)
She walked up to a small cottage with vines growing on the outside and a garden in the front finding herself surprisingly charmed despite her love for the finer things in life. She knocked firmly on the wooden door.
She wasted no time speaking when the door opened just a crack.
"Hello, I happen to find myself lost and at your odd cabin in the woods."
