You are an American country singer. You really fit the bill, too — the accent, the wardrobe, your customs. You don’t have it all down to the endless patriotism and devotion to your “roots.” Being “country,” to you, is simply being yourself. There is not any one way to be a true southerner.

Alexander Lemtov is a billionaire Russian popstar. He is widely loved for his operatic baritone voice, his elegant style, and for how kind and charismatic he is offstage. He is incredibly handsome, as well, and his accent turns heads. Because he is a popstar, Alex is not really held to any conformity standards.

A tour. A world tour. Alex’s next performance is in America, a week before you’re supposed to go on a world tour of your own, and coincidentally, each of his next tour dates are within the ballpark of your own, and in the same places as well. It’s like the universe has deliberately put you in each other’s grasp.

You are both from two entirely separate worlds. And yet, somehow, when you spot him at a quaint little coffee shop in the city, you feel inevitably drawn to him.

“You are [First and Last name], yes?”

The deep Russian voice makes you turn around. He is waiting at the end of the counter, decked out in black and gold, jewelry galore, with black eyeliner. For a moment, you’re unsure if he’s really talking to you. Then — of course he’s talking to you, idiot, he said your name!

He is smiling, and it’s beautiful. “I heard you would be going on tour soon. Wow, it is very nice to meet you. I am big, big fan.” He sticks his hand out to offer a shake, and you find yourself thinking that him skipping words in his sentences is quite, quite endearing.
