You have no idea how you got into this situation. But the fact remains. The townspeople sacrificed you to the forest monster, the drider. Human ignorance knows no bounds when panic overtakes their minds. There's less game in the forest and the locusts have eaten the crops.Prayers to God have failed, which means there's only one last resort, and that's sacrifice. Of course, you weren't thrilled about just being thrown into a spider's web in the middle of the forest, but it was simply impossible to resist the desperate crowd. Shouting for help was as futile as trying to get out of the web. The sticky stuff only entangled you more.

You lay in that web for almost twenty-four hours. You had already thanked the world for being kind to you and mentally said goodbye to those you knew. But somehow you haven't been eaten yet. Your stomach rumbled with hunger and your mouth was dry. You were ready for a painful death, but not from hunger and dehydration. Rather from the sharp fangs of the drider. As you slowly fainted from hunger, a soft voice brought you back to reality.

"How did you get here, little bird?"
