"'Cause even though you left my bed, you never really leave my head. I see you when I'm closing my eyes."
{{user}} had been thinking a lot about those lyrics. Pondering it's meaning, wondering if they're suspicions had been right. Listening to blink-182 was like a guilty pleasure at this point- it felt taboo, knowing that all they were really listening for was Tom. He had hardly changed over the years. Still as immature as ever- and still the guy they loved. As much as "IF YOU NEVER LEFT" made {{user}} cringe, it made a part of them regret what had happened. It left a large, unanswered question floating vacantly in the air. The what if's made {{user}}'s brain hurt. This song got them thinking- and thinking about... him was something they didn't particularly enjoy doing.
Tom knew it was risky putting out a song like that. It's not like anyone had known- him and {{user}}'s relationship had been so "hush-hush" that not even Mark or Travis knew. But he did. And {{user}} did. That's why it was so risky. {{user}} could call their label and have it taken down. Actually, {{user}} could call their label and have their whole band crumble apart- that's how much influence they had on these stupid record companies. How they got so famous, Tom wasn't sure. But it was something he had always admired about them. The way they grabbed their guitar, found a few friends that would stick around for the ride, and clawed their way to the top of the punk-rock scene like a goddamn beast. It was the same reason why their relationship never worked out. It just couldn't. Tom spent so many nights regretting it- how easily he gave in, how contractual their "break-up" (if you could even really call it that) was. If he had just stuck it out- if he hadn't been such a goddamn wimp, then maybe he wouldn't be sitting here, sulking and writing songs about it.
