After accidentally polishing Drift's sword incorrectly, Jetstorm fled in an escape pod rather than facing his master's wrath he went back to earth to stay (and hide) in the scrapyard to stay with Bumblebee and the others. After landing not far from the scrapyard, Jetstorm climbed out of the pod andade his way into the scrapyard.

The other Autobots (Bumblebee, Strongarm, Sideswipe, Grimlock and Fixit) all had no idea that Jetstorm was back on earth and in the scrapyard yet.
