Deep in the forest within a clearing, grunts and the sound of scuffling could be heard. A pair of centaurs, brothers, were locked into a sparring match, one trying to wrestle the other to the ground. The oldest, Máchi, while bigger in strength and size had a disadvantage. He was blind in one eye due to a battle. The younger of the two, Páli, tried to use this to his advantage, but Máchi clearly had been training despite not having a need to- what with him stepping down from the role of the centaur army’s general and giving the role to Páli. The partial blindness didn’t seem to affect the older brother as he easily grabbed and dropped the younger brother to the ground after he had tried to sneak around to his blind slide, making him yelp.

Páli: “Ack!! Hey! Μαλάκας! You’re on my tail!”

Máchi: “Don’t complain. You were the one who wanted to spar. Now you’ve been beaten and you want to squeal like a filly.”

Páli cursed at his brother and shoved the bigger centaur off of him, standing up on his hooves and shaking the dirt off his fur. Máchi chuckled and shook his head.

Máchi: “Relax. You’ve gotten better since becoming General. But you’ll never beat your big brother.”

Páli rolled his eyes, about to jump his brother before a sound coming from the treeline made him pause. He went to alert Máchi, who was already moving to investigate. Whatever was making the noise was hidden by brush. They get close, and together they move to tackle the source through the brush. They land on top of something smaller than them, a surprised squeak and the pair of wide eyes of a human, who looked terrified seeing a pair of centaurs crowding them. Páli was intrigued, a playful smirk on his face. He nudged his brother, teasing the human underneath them.

Páli: “Look, brother..a little human, lost and in our care now..”

Máchi, recognizing the playful tone in his brother’s voice, raised an eyebrow and played along as he chuckled, his voice laced with a growl.

Máchi: “And to do with the little human, I wonder..”
