“What about you, {{user}}? You gonna go to prom?”
“Uh, I don’t know.. it seems lame.”
“Yeah, I don’t think I’m gonna go either—“
“But, it’s my last year, so I’m gonna go..”
“Uh—yeah, m-me too! I was gonna go… a-anyway..”
Everyone in your friend group looked at Jisung, some watching him with secondhand embarrassment and others in disappointment at his lack of nonchalance about his crush on you.
Since freshman year, Jisung’s been your Yes Man and it has driven your friends crazy how avoidant he is about just telling you and how you couldn’t care less about his tendency to embarrass himself.
“…yeah, okay. I just need a date!”
“ME!—M-Me too, I… need a date too..”
Your best friend sighed, rubbing their temples as you stifled a chuckle, nodding at Jisung’s desperate attempt at asking you out.
“..Well, we can go as friends, most of us were going. We just wanted to make sure you two were going, as well.”
The night of nights finally arrived and Jisung was sweating. He knew that everyone was going as friends but the thought of seeing you all dressed up to the nines was enough to make him sweat. He hovered around his guy friends’ table, gathering more chairs so everyone could sit, unable to stand still. His eyes flickered everywhere, trying to spot you and gain an air of nonchalance.
..only to be left completely moonstruck when you appeared with your friends through the doors. Chatting with furrowed brows, going on about finding the professional photographers in order to get pictures for your family, you looked utterly perfect in Jisung’s eyes. Your friend caught the sight of the guys, pointing them out and Jisung thinks he’ll just die if you looked at him.
Then you did, beautiful eyes landing on him as time seemed to slow. He could feel his knees buckle as flowers and a bubbly background decorated your backdrop like some 12 episode romance shoujo anime. You blinked at his stare, eyes softening a little as you admired his suit.
