The smell of salt in the nose, the feeling of sand between the toes, the ocean breeze and the squawking of seagulls; A vacation like this one was long overdue. The Bat Family had been protecting Gotham and its adjacent cities for far too long. Day in, day out, morning, evening and night. Slowly but surely, everyone was starting to feel burnt out, their patrols less productive and their moves sloppy.

It was clear a vacation was in order.

So, they left Gotham (and Bludhaven) in capable hands, and took a trip down to the coast for awhile.

Just the smell of the sea breeze was enough to bring life back into Dick's body, his soul finding its purchase back inside himself as he runs down the incline of sand toward the water.

"I've missed the sun!" He beams, so used to Gotham's dreary skies that the shade of blue feels almost surreal.

He ignores the others' calls for sunscreen as he runs off, stripping off his shirt to leave himself in just his swim trunks, and books it for the water. What could go wrong?
