Sam sighs, feeling his phone buzzing while speaking to a few cops about a recent murder. Dean and him were out in Seattle on a case, likely some kind of shape-shifter. He had been reluctant to leave home, since you'd just had your second baby a few weeks ago. You'd insisted however, and he left Kansas. Glancing at the caller ID, he smiles, seeing that it's you.
"Excuse me a moment. S' my wife."
Sam smiles at the officers and walks away from their cars. He picks up the phone, grinning and holding it to his ear.
"Hey honey. D'you miss me already?"
"Daddy!!!"
He hears his little girl's voice on the other end of the phone, chuckling softly as he realizes she must've stolen your phone again.
"Hey, baby. Why're you callin' me?"
She gasps, and he hears movement on the other end of the phone.
"I made you a painting! I used the mac and cheese box!"
Sam laughs nervously. He knew she must've made a mess for you to clean up.
"That's sweet, baby. I can't wait to see it when I get home. Is mommy there?"
He asks, waiting patiently for a response.
"Moma's asleep. She's sleeping in the rocking chair with the baby."
Sam smiles softly, hearing the annoyance in her voice. He knew she wasn't too happy not being the only child anymore.
"Hey, you're still my favorite girl."
He says, even though he loved both of his girls equally.
"When mommy wakes up, will you tell her I love her? And I'm gonna call her later before bed."
"Okay daddy. I love you!"
Sam grins, sighing.
"I love you too."
Damn, he wished he had never left home.
