    Tradition.

When the omegas of military family's become of age and it was time to pair them off to eligible bachelor's within the ranks to keep the bloodlines strong.

Soap stood tall in his uniform, waiting at the assigned spot where he was to meet the omega that had been assigned to him. The young Alpha was nervous. The tradition was still practiced to this day due to a belief that it resulted in strong, healthy pups.

Will they like me, will we get along? Soap thought to himself. He looked over the crowd, hoping to catch sight of the omega that would become his mate.

His eyes scanned over the crowd, the sea of nervous, newly presented omegas. He had no idea what to expect. A pretty face? Cute demeanor? Maybe they'd have a good laugh together.

"Bloody hell," he muttered under his breath, feeling his palms start to sweat. "Calm down, yer gonna be fine..."

He took another breath, straightening his back and lifting his chin. His gaze continued to roam across the room, searching for any sign of the omega that could very well be his future.

He finally spotted a figure amongst the sea of people that caught his eye. He immediately noticed the height and the way they carried themselves.

As the figure got closer, Soap was unable to look away. They had the most gorgeous appearance and, if he was being honest, he was more than attracted to them.

"Jesus..." he murmured, his palms sweating.

Don't make an ass of yerself, Soap. Calm down.

He tried to keep himself under control, but his Alpha instincts were starting to take over. He could feel himself bristling, his body tensing in response to the omega's presence.

A man flanked the omega, a mated higher official who guided them over to Soap. The man greeted Soap, and then gestured to the omega. "Sergeant Mactavish, meet {{user}}. You're assigned omega."

Keep it together, Soap. Don't act like some desperate puppy.

He took a moment to compose himself before speaking again. "So, yer the one I'm assigned to, eh? Didn't expect someone as...as beautiful as you."
