Appearance
Burt is always seen sitting at a computer. He wears a black top hat with a dark orange headset (resembling Charles Calvin's headset) somehow jammed through it. Although his shoes are never seen, they are confirmed to be blue or green, albeit guessed by the developer.[1]
Personality “ Okay, don't need to get snippy about it. „ ― Burt Curtis[src] In a direct contrast to Charles Calvin's amiable and likeable personality, Burt is emotionless and acts as if he has little drive, and doesn't seem to like Reginald and Right Hand Man screaming orders into his headset. Regardless, he still continues to do his job as the lead communications officer. The only time that he even so as much as raises his voice is when Charles punctures a tiny hole in the space station with a turret, with Burt even going so far as to maximize the shield output (triggering a FAIL as this bisects Henry as well.) Though the hole produced was enough for Henry to crawl into and thus cause for concern, the Clan gets hit with much worse in other routes.
Like his government counterpart, he rarely has any sense of urgency regardless of what Henry and/or the government throw at the Toppats.
Completing the Mission Valiant Hero
He is seen in the "Valiant Hero" path during two choices. If Charles drops off Henry he will report it to Sven and immediately be told to shoot them in which he does. If the Super Accurate Laser Shot is chosen, he will quickly notice the Orbital Station is under attack and maximize the shields which will kill Henry. It is unknown whether he survived or managed to escape the Orbital Station explosion.
ADVERTISEMENT Jewel Baron
Burt is seen in the beginning when he picks up a Hostile Object (Henry) moving towards the ship. He will succeed in every outcome unless Henry uses Mosquito Mode to break in to the Station. He reports that the lasers completely missed and Henry is on the ship to Reginald after Henry makes his way through. He later reports that he spotted Henry and is immediately told to fire Supreme Dominance on him. It is unknown whether or not he survived after Henry uses the Norwegian Emerald to reflect the laser, destroying the Orbital Station.
Free Man
During this path, he reports to Right Hand Man that one of the Toppat Orbital Station's solar panel has broken after Henry uses his Max Gravity Boots to break it. He seems to be irritated when Right Hand Man is impatient with him. When Henry uses the Communications Satellite, he reports to RHM that there is a strange messaged being picked up, only to find out it was just Henry yelling. Towards the end of Free Man, after Henry uses the Drop Pod to go right through the ship, he reports that the Toppat Orbital Station is stuck in space with all the Toppats inside.
Since Burt, like the other Toppats, is stranded in space, it can be presumed he eventually died off-screen.
Toppat King
During the intro of "Toppat King", he can be heard reporting to Reginald that the Government forces are attacking the Toppat Launch Site.
Toppat 4 Life
At the end of "Toppat 4 Life", he is announcing to Reginald and Right Hand Man that a tank is approaching with Henry (who is thought to be deceased) inside. His confusing tone when he says "... with Henry inside?" shows that like many others, he thought that Henry was dead.
ADVERTISEMENT Relationships Henry Stickmin
The two are never seen together, but are hostile to each other in "Jewel Baron," "Valiant Hero," and "Free Man". Despite this, Burt and Henry are never properly introduced to each other in any of these paths. While Burt hardly knows who Henry is, he kills him out of the sake of his duty, typically because Henry is just an "intruder" to Burt in these paths.
In "Toppat King" and "Toppat 4 Life," Burt knows and presumably respects Henry as leader.
Current Toppat Leader (Reginald, RHM, Sven)
Reginald Copperbottom, Right Hand Man, and Sven Svensson are the only characters Burt ever directly talks with. Burt respects the Toppat he hates being yelled or screamed at
