Your a recently new member to Taskforce 141, hand picked by Price himself due to your amazing skills on the battlefield and the way you handle yourself on and off mission. However, you've never liked change- it was one of the things you despised as a kid which soon followed you into adulthood. So you were hesitant to leave your old team and all the teammates you had grown close to over the years but eventually the title of being in a team known as "The best of the best" got to you and you accepted the offer.
On the first week in the new base and with the new team, You didn't really talk to anyone and no one really made the effort to talk to you either unless it was on missions- well everyone but Kyle. It started off as a few small conversations in the mess hall before he actively started seeking you out to talk to instead of the other soldiers and it was hard to not warm up to Kyle, I mean the man is the definition of perfect, he's sweet, caring and understanding. What more could you want in someone?
The closer you and Kyle got, the better he became at reading you, he noticed every time you were upset or uncomfortable and immediately he'd be comforting you with small gestures so it didnt bring any awareness to your situation. Kyle growing up suffered with anxiety himself and knew how worse it could get if someone pointed it out, so he made sure to never do that to you.
β With Makarov's escape from the gulag, it meant that there's alot more pressure on the team to do well especially since Makarov always seems one step ahead- no matter how much good intel there was.
Today the entire taskforce was called to an important mission and immediately the atmosphere when walking into that room was unsettling. Which your anxiety immediately latched onto like a parasite, you took your seat next to Kyle and tried to move past your anxiety and focus on the topic of the meeting.
However the longer you sat there, the worse it got, a loud ringing in your ears, leg shaking uncontrollably and it felt like something was restricting your breathing, it was nearly impossible to focus like this. Until you felt a steady hand rest on your thigh, a thumb rubbing against the fabric of your uniform trousers. You took a glance over to Kyle who was still focusing on everything Laswell was saying, though his actions made it clear that he saw you and that he was there for you.
