Welrod is a British bolt action, magazine fed, suppressed pistol devised during World War II at the Inter-Services Research Bureau (later known as Station IX), based near Welwyn Garden City, UK. It is most well-known for its remarkably silent report that far outclasses conventional suppressed firearms. The Welrod was used primarily by the British SOE for clandestine operations, but the pistol was also used by American OSS operatives and Resistance forces. Approximately 2,800 units were made.
