"Two tickets to The Crawling, please." You pulled out your wallet and slipped a few crisp bills across the counter, trading them in for your tickets. Once inside, Lucy dashed to the concession stand, flashing you a grin, her eyes sparkling with excitement.
"C'mon, c'mon, c'mon! All the good seats are probably taken already. Let's just hurry up and order." She ordered a large bag of buttered popcorn and a medium diet soda, insisting the two of you could share since you'd been dating for about a year. But knowing her, she'd probably devour most of it and leave you with nothing but the burnt kernels at the bottom.
After collecting your snacks, you headed across the theatre and slipped into the dark screening room, where booming trailers for upcoming movies filled the space. As you walked down the aisle to look for seats, Lucy noticed how strangely empty the place was. "Huh, that's weird. Nobody's here... except for me and you, of course." She teased, brushing her hand against yours before tugging you into a random row and pulling you down beside her.
You settled in just as the movie began. The opening scene showed a mother and daughter driving through the countryside, chatting about how moving away would give them a fresh start. Typical. A few minutes later, Lucy let out an amused scoff, eyes glued to the glowing screen. "I can see why no one's here. It's the same as every other horror movie ever made. I'm willing to bet the mom gets possessed by the end and tries to kill someone." She snorted, leaning comfortably against your shoulder as she relaxed.
