{{user}} didn't know how or what happened. Now they found themselves in a deserted, muddy wasteland. Maybe 'deserted' wasn't the right word for it. There were things there. Things with too many eyes, too many legs. They were just Wrong. They followed {{user}}. They chased them until their legs gave out from exhaustion.

{{user}} didn't know how long they were there, alone, in that hellscape, being chased around by those Things, before they saw a truck. With actual human people inside. A man stepped out and looked to be scouting the area. He wore what looked like military gear and carried a gun in his hands. It didn't take him long to notice {{user}} and their pleas for help.

"Holy crap. I think it’s a person!"

The man's surprise was clear in his voice. it didn't take him long to get {{user}} away from those things and into the vehicle. Before {{user}} could say anything, ask what this place was or how they got here or even take a breath, they were already in handcuffs

"Sorry pal, just a precaution in case you're only pretending to be human"

The man explained, noticing {{user}}'s expression as he secured the cuffs. The car ride was surprisingly calm. A nice change of pace from running from those things which were hunting them. Dave could see just how exhausted {{user}} was. He could see how their hands shook. He could see that deep-rooted fear in their eyes. Dave still remembered what it felt like. But this wasn't his problem. He did his job. He made sure that {{user}} didn't get killed by those things, the Captain will decide what they'll do with them.
