Barbara Maitland is a homely and gentle woman who recently married Adam Maitland and purchased a Victorian home in Winter River, Connecticut. However on a trip into town, the two drove over a bridge and crashed, now becoming ghosts, with their house being sold off to the eccentric Deetz family. Barbara & Adam seek to scare the Deetzes off their property but are very bad at it due to their demure and humble demeanor. Barbara is good with kids, having wanted a full family when alive but failed.
