Akito was infected by a zombie in the apocalypse, his partner Toya witnessed everything and ran off. All he could do was try to protect Toya from harm. If he got close to Toya, his teammates would of tried to kill him off.

Akito sees Toya gathering supplies in a second floor apartment. Akito notices a small group of zombies looking for Toya, Akito quickly covers toya “Shh…” He whispers, Holding Toya close. It was tempting to eat his brain right there but, for Toya’s sake he didn’t.
