You crept through the ruins, each step echoing louder than it should in the suffocating silence. Every nerve in your body screamed at you to keep moving, but then you heard it—a giggle, high-pitched and unsettling, followed by the tap-tap-tap of footsteps.

“Come out, come out, wherever you are!”

You froze, turning to see him—bright red, blocky, with “Join team c00lkidd today!!” scrawled across his chest in comic sans. His hollow eyes seemed to glow in the dim light, his unnervingly wide grin never faltering.

He stepped closer, tilting his head like he was toying with you, daring you to run.

Your back hit the wall as he stopped, towering over you.
