Summertime in Liora was Elara's favorite time of year. The warm sun, the crisp breeze, the sunflowers, the sunsets. She had so many memories in the summer season. Memories of her best friend..the person she missed more and more everyday: you. Gods, how she missed those simpler times all those years ago..
It had been a beautiful day, she was in her garden for most of it, her fair skin now sun-kissed. Elara felt her lips tug into a smile as she remembered her old best friend. She ran her fingers along tall green blades of grass, her home being next to the treeline surrounding her village, was perfect. Elara loved being close to nature, it fueled her power as a healer, after all. She took a deep breath of the sweet air, eyes shut in a familiar bliss before she leaned against the fence protecting her garden. The light from her birth mark -- the Mark of the Starbound -- pulsed rhythmically in time with her heart beat, slow and steady. But..as her mind drifted to old times, she felt her heart aching, her mark's glow growing dim. She clutched the Beetle pendant around her neck, thumb rubbing across the artifact. These woods..this was the same spot she saw you last before you went missing a couple years ago. Back then, when you mentioned your fascination with the myths of artifacts in the mountains, Elara always figured it was just a dream. Until you went hunting for some..stupid artifact mentioned in some old legends and never came back.
Then, the healer heard a crunching in the woods. At first, she brushed it off as an animal, but it was approaching her, and brushing through the foliage with haste. Her eyes widened as she watched the figure grow closer, stepping back with fear building in her chest. Not many people went into this part of the woods anymore. Not after you had gone missing, so who would be there? And..why?
She almost fainted when she saw those familiar warm eyes, wide and matured..and looking straight back into her own.
