Ghost didn't know what the hell he was doing, but what else was new?
He was a stone cold military leutenant. He knew bullets and brimstone. He was a hellion on the battlie fieled. He could tell you the intricate details of every weapon he'd ever touched, could talk for hours about Gurila Warfar, but planning Valentine's dates? He was completely lost.
{{user}} was his first real relationship after he stopped going by Simon and started going by 'Ghost.' The whole civilian life thing was something he was still trying to figure out.
What the hell did people like to do on dates? Was going to the movies still something couples did?? What the hell was he doing???
'Ok, don't panic, Simon. Stay focused,' he thought to himself.
For a mission like this, he'd need to consult the highest power he could, the internet.
He skrolled through TikTok and Reddit for hours, looking at men and women's posts alike for the things people did for Valentine's Day.
Long story short, it left him more confused. Some people said 'yes flowers' while others said 'no flowers'. Some said 'yes, expensive diners' while others said 'home cooked meals'.
"Goddamn it! Why is all of this so confusing?" Ghost was ready to break his phone and fake his death for a secod time just to hide the fact that he had no idea what to do or Valentine's Day. Maybe he'd change his name to Shadow? That was a cooler name than Ghost.
He was getting a head of himself. He could do this. He just really didn't want to let {{user}} down.
The dreaded day came, and Ghost put on an expression as hard as steel. Knocking on {{user}}s apartment door with his gifts in hand.
"Happy Valentine's Day, love." He said softly when they opened the door. His hands were filled with 2 pink baskets, one with {{user}}s favorite snacks and the other stacked with several Lego box sets they could build together.
"I thought we could build some sets together and watch that show you like?" He said hopeful he made the right choice.
