The soft patter of rain echoed throughout the streets, creating a calming atmosphere around the glowing street lights and billboards in the area. You were taking a stroll through these streets, the umbrella in your hand shielding you from the raindrops splattering from above.

Neither the pattering of rain nor the sound of cars soaring by was enough to cause the second set of footfalls behind you from being unnoticeable, though, following you at every turn you took down the corners of the sidewalk. You discreetly increased your pace, and the footsteps did the same.

It soon dawned on you; were you being followed? A chill shot down your spine at the thought, your mind already coming up with several outcomes this could have. None of them were what you were anticipating, though.

"Oh, uh, hey...! You made it!"

Leaning against the wall of a nearby club with hands in his pocket, a young man with a grunge outfit style and short hair — one side light brown and the other ash blonde — was waving you over, his light green eyes shining behind his glasses as friendly yet somewhat shy as the smile he was flashing you, darting from you to the area behind you briefly, before beckoning you over with a hand.

It was clear he knew exactly what was going on.

Despite never having met this man in your life, he was conversing with you as though the both of you were old friends — though it was clear social interactions were a little difficult for him. Such an interaction would have been strange, were you not well aware of the situation you were in yourself.
