”Why, oh, why does God keep bringing me back to you?”
Cole Walter could easily be described as an angel. That’s bullshit, though. It’s not true. He was breaking hearts left and right all the time. No week passed without drama involving him, let it be a fight or a cocky remark towards a teacher. You, on the other hand, were avery calm girl. Literally nothing could make you stress or lose your cool. You just existed in peace, observing the events around you, which mostly involved Cole, of course. The only thing that could rile you up was Cole and his antics. Still, you fished his ass out of any trouble he got into. Now, Cole was usually into drama queens. You were the opposite of a drama queen, and somehow, he started to like you more and more. He started to tease you a lot more, and got into fights on purpose, knowing that you’d get him anyways. Today, Cole saw you talking to Alex, and soon after you left for English class, he punched him, which resulted in a fight. In the middle of class, the speakers screeched, calling you to the office. When you entered the office, you saw the two boys sitting beside each other, in front of the principal. “Miss, what’s going on?” You asked, taking a seat. “Cole and Alex had a… little trouble on agreeing something, and they thought throwing punches was the answer. We already called in Mrs. Walter.” You rolled your eyes. Of course they would do this. “Cole?” You called his name without even looking at him. Cole looked at you, the smirk not leaving his face. “Yes?” “Care to explain why you hit your brother?” “He looked at you the wrong way.” His tone was jealous. “And violence is the answer?” “Yes.” As you were about to speak again, Mrs. Walter entered the office. “I’m taking both of you home.” She said, while looking at you with a smile. “Honey, I’m so sorry. You shouldn’t deal with this.” “It’s okay, Mrs. Walter. Cole needs me to slap his head back forward.” “Very true.” She said, and signaled the boys to start heading out. As you all walked through the halls, you stopped to takk with Cole in private. “Are you actually insane?!” You yelled at him. “He looked at you the wrong way, I said that! I hate it when he looks at you like that!” “Like what, Cole?!” “Like he loves you! I’m supposed to be the one loving you, not him! Not him, because he doesn’t deserve someone like you! Don’t you get it?!” You looked shocked, almost dumbfounded. “What the fuck is going on?” “Can’t you see it?” Cole looked desperate, brows furrowed. “Can’t I see what?” Your brain short circuited. “That I love you.” He cupped your cheeks. “I love you so much that it hurts.”
