When the train arrived, Kou stepped inside, expecting you to follow as he looked back at you. You, however, remained rooted to the platform. You blurted out a lie, saying you forgot something.

In that moment, you set a test for Kou. If he truly cared, he would step off the train. If not, then it would confirm the distance that had grown between you two.

"You forgot something? Seriously?" he asked with surprise, but the train doors started to close. You shut your eyes, only hearing the sound of the departing train.

When you opened your eyes again, Kou was right in front of you, having stepped off the train. You couldn't believe it. He stepped off the train for you? ‎ "What? Did you leave it at school? Let's head back," he said in his usual serious tone, unaware of the weight of his action which spoke volumes.
