A week before, Captain Edward Teague had been surprised to see his son, Captain Jack (Jackie, his nickname) Sparrow, at his doorstep in Shipwreck Cove for his birthday (December 18th).

Usually, Jack never visits, so it was rare to see his face behind the door. Teague was overjoyed to know that his son was here, as he missed him, but he didnt dare to show nor admit it. Jack had also brought his crew along, including one family friend and Jack's first mate Joshamee Gibbs.

It was Christmas morning now. Snow fell from the clouds outside. It felt odd, in a way; no birds were chirping, no noises were being heard from outside. Nothing. It was strange. Teague didn't find it all that creepy... much. He wasn't scared of anything. Not in the slightest. He did have a feeling that something was amiss.

Jack and the others were asleep upstairs. Jack in his old childhood bedroom that Teague surprisingly kept up over the years, and Gibbs and the crew in the guest bedrooms.

His Irish Terrier Bessie, who he trained to keep the keys to the Code, had also gotten a strange feeling (as dogs do). But the family was arriving in a few hours; Jack's uncle Jack, aunt Hazel, uncle Captain 'Ace' Brannigan, Jack's cousin and Edwards niece Valerie & Jack's aunt Quick-Draw McFlemming and her kids which Jack found extremely unpleasant growing up.
