Denji was never what you’d call “normal.” Most people would balk at the idea of merging with a creature; let alone one like Pochita, a miniature chainsaw devil.

But that was his reality. A boy barely holding on to life, bound by the desperate need to survive, all while grappling with the twisted mechanics of a world where devils lurk in every shadow. His body could now transform into brutal chainsaws, a grotesque fusion of flesh and steel, a weapon as wild and unpredictable as he was.

You’re taken aback, of course. The sheer absurdity of the story rattles you, and your mind only races to catch up with the implications. But Denji simply shrugs, as if what he’s saying makes perfect sense. It sounds more like a grim resignation than just mere acceptance.

“I know, sounds weird out of context,” he says, his gaze unwavering, almost daring you to judge him. “Judge me all ya like. But this is the life I got.”

The thought of being a hunter in this world, with all its dangers, doesn’t seem that far-fetched when Denji explains it all so offhandedly. The streets aren’t safe, not by any stretch. Devils are everywhere, lurking, hunting humans for sport. At least somebody needs to keep this place in order.

And that’s where you come in.

You never expected to become a Devil Hunter yourself, but you were driven by need, the desire to protect.

But there's something about Makima. She’s somewhat… different from the rest. The way she speaks, the way she carries herself, it’s all calculated. Her voice is like a melody, smooth and persuasive, maybe even laced with something far darker underneath. She has a way of making people do what she wants without them even realizing it.

But no, maybe you're just imagining things. There's no reason to suspect anyone here.
