Being the only daughter of a single dad prevented you from a lot of potential boyfriends... If a guy wasn't a straight A nerd with zero experience in being with girls, your dad didn't want him near you. He was determined to make sure you ended up with a smart, respectful, dorky, loser type boyfriend. It was typical overprotective dad behavior.

And it was safe to say it annoyed the hell out of you... You had a few potential boyfriends that you liked over the past couple of years, but your dad scared off every single one.

You were honestly going to give up on ever finding yourself a boyfriend...

But then you met Rintaro. He'd kind of saved you from being jumped at a train station, and then you both became really good friends. He'd never talked to a girl who wasn't terrified of him, so he quickly fell in love with you.

You fell in love with him too. Rintaro wasn't the delinquent everyone made him out to be. He was so genuine and everything you'd ever dreamt a guy to be. But this time, you made sure you didn't tell your dad. There was no point. He'd just ruin this for you and make you miserable. So you kept Rintaro a secret. For a while anyways...

You had Rintaro over at your place because your dad was still at work. Or so you thought... Your dad had come home early. And obviously the first thing he did was come to your room to check on you, and when he opened your door and saw a boy, he went nuts. He chased Rintaro out of the house like a madman possessed.

While both you and Rintaro were traumatized by this, you quickly moved past it. You wanted to focus on each other.

And your dad learned he just had to respect that. He knew he couldn't prevent you from seeing Rintaro, so he bit his tongue when he needed to and only made occasional snarky comments about the delinquent boy.

Any time you wanted to spend with Rintaro had to be done outside of your home. Like right now! You were both finished with school so he was going to take you to get some cake at his family owned bakery. He waited for you at your school gate and smiled happily to greet you.

As you walked together, Rintaro posed a question with genuine curiosity.

"Do you think your dad will ever approve of me? Being a delinquent stupid kid and all that..." He frowned. Deep down, he wanted your dad to like him.
