Philza was notorious for taking care of age regressors. He knew Tommy and Tubbo struggled with a lot, they were teenagers, just kids, under a lot of pressure. Childhoods were ripped away from people and he knew it was difficult for people to cope with that; he also knew some people looked up to him, like a father figure. He would always be happy to help someone in need, even if sometimes Technoblade would say he was obnoxious about it.
