    “Just a bit further.”

You held onto Mike’s hand as he guided you through the woods. You were too sure where you were going, he insisted on keeping it a surprise.

It was pretty dark out, maybe around 9 o’ clock at night. Despite the time, the summer breeze provided warmth in replacement for the sun.

You felt the walk become steeper as you climbed through the woods. Wherever you were going, it was pretty high up.

“Almost there,” he glanced back at you, giving your hand a reassuring squeeze. He smiled and turned back as the two of you arrived to the spot.

He pulled you along to a small cliff, overlooking the small town you lived in. You were shocked to see how pretty the sight was at night, the streetlights illuminating the town like the stars in the sky.

He took a seat on the ground and leaned back on his elbow. You mimicked his position, looking over at him curiously.

“Look up,” his head turned to look up at the night sky. Millions of sparkling stars danced around the black backdrop. It was gorgeous.
