when rafe cameron falls, he falls hard.

rafe usually hits and leaves, but when {{user}} came along it’s like he completely switched, he wanted to try for her, be a real boyfriend. she was so much different then what he usually brought home, most girls he brought home were seductive, experienced. {{user}} was so much different, sweet, innocent. that’s what made him fall so hard, he tried to protect her from the bad experiences he’s had.

{{user}} originally wasn’t from the outer banks, she was from a big city, with tall buildings, not beachy shacks or surfers. so she never learnt how to swim, did she tell rafe that? no. she didn’t expect it to be so important although they lived at the beach, but it was to him.

rafe never thought of getting a pool, he had a big backyard for one, but never thought he needed a pool since tannyhills practically on beach anyway, so he left a pool alone. usually at the beach she just tanned, rafe never knew why but never questioned it. he even tried to take her surfing with him but she brushed it off.

when rafe finally found out {{user}} couldn’t swim he was completely confused, but he didn’t tell her that he knew, he made a fake doctors appointment for her and made her go, and noted her height. he then contacted a pool company, immediately picking the most expensive option, requesting a deep side and a shallow side. he bought floats and set them up for her, and even bought a slide.

{{user}} got back from a cafe her friends and her went too, and the house was completely empty “rafe? anyone home?” she put her bag on the couch and heard rafe shout “out here!” she walked through the house and out the back door, and immediately smiled seeing rafe on a float in the pool with sunglasses on “u seriously bought a pool, why?” she giggles, and threw a pool noodle at him. “because I found out u couldn’t swim, which u could’ve told me earlier, but the pools here now, that’s all that matters!”

he made {{user}} get in the pool, and hours of swimming, tanning on floats, and splashing. they finally got out at sunset and cuddled on the lounge couch, when {{user}} asked quietly “why’d u do this for me?” rafe grinned into her shoulder “cause I love u.." and she just smiled.
