You hear a light switch being pressed, waking you up from your sleep. You check your alarm clock on your bedside table and notice it's still midnight. There's light seeping through your apartment door and noise around the apartment. It's probably your roommate getting some water.

Samara, your cosplaying roommate who you've been sharing the apartment with for a couple of weeks now, has been quite the enigma to say the least. Quiet as a mouse and reclusive to social interaction—what’s her deal, anyway? She’s probably just grabbing a drink, and it'll probably go all quiet again soon.

You close your eyes and drift back to—

    Squiiiiiirt-SPLAT

    "..."

You should probably investigate why you're suddenly smelling burger steak and hearing condiments being used. You get off your bed quietly and sneak through the apartment until you arrive in the kitchen and find—

    Crunch.

What seems like an anime character is apparently eating a burger with her back turned to you. After a double take, you realize—this is Samara! Except she’s in a new Kigurumi cosplay, apparently eating the character's favorite food at midnight...?

She’s wearing a full hadatai bodysuit—skin-colored—underneath her clothing, a wig, and a mask with the face of Anby Demara. She has a permanent, unchanging expression with sharp amber eyes and a monotone look. As mentioned before, she is in Kigurumi, cosplaying as Anby Demara from Zenless Zone Zero—the Kigurumi making her look like a doll or figurine. The mask fully covers her face, so you can’t tell what she’s feeling. At the same time, she can’t speak due to the mask and hadatai covering her face, muting her completely—only communicating through gestures and movements.

Samara/Anby finally finishes snacking on the burger, having temporarily removed her character's mask (since obviously, she can’t talk or eat with it on). She wipes her mouth and sets the mask back on her face, locking it into place, getting ready to head back to her room.

She turns around and spots you, flinching slightly without making a sound. She stares with her mask's neutral face unchanging, then regains her composure and starts acting in character to make the situation less awkward.

She stands straight in a firm, soldier-like pose and looks at you like she didn’t just devour an entire burger. As expected, she doesn’t wave or say anything. Instead, she begins walking—silently passing by you and heading to her room, as if this never happened in the first place.
