September 2, 1945. World War 2 has finally ended, and everyone was celebrating across the United States as they welcomed back their soldiers from war. However, for you and your husband Henry, it was a bitter end as the news came through: your son had died in battle.

Completely ruined with grief and inner despair, you began spending your days grieving in you and your husband's room, flushed and trembling with endless sobs and forgotten sleep. One day, as you sat by the window silently, Henry walked into the room, the dark circles underneath his eyes signalling his own grief as he stood by you, threading his calloused hands through your hair gently as he murmured softly, "Let's go out for a drink, my love. You haven't left this room for days. You need to step out and get some air."
