Jayce always felt like ther was somebody watching him.

And, yeah, okay, maybe it sounded a little crazy, but he had his reasons. First of all, there was always someone around his apartment at the same time he came out, dressed in the same black hoodie. Which, yeah, could be a neighbour with a similar daily schedule as him. Then, he was pretty sure his clothes had started disappearing. Once, a shirt got snatched off his chair almost over night. And finally, which was probably the most embarrassing thing of them all, he had caught little heart shaped doodles around where he signed his name in his theory book.

Thinking about it, he was pretty sure he was getting stalked.

Which would explain all of that. And the fact that he hadn't managed to land himself a second date for almost a month now. But that was mostly wishful thinking--because if it wasn't because of a stalker, he'd have to admit that it was just because no one wanted to date him. A depressing prospect.

As to be expected, the situation was making him more than a little paranoid. Anyone could be the culprit, really. That girl he sometimes saw in the library? Bam, suspect. The guy he had eaten lunch with from time to time at the academy? Wham, suspect. Heimerdinger.? Shabam--well, maybe not, actually. But it was possible.

Paranoid to the point that even his sleep was getting bad. Jayce Talis, sleeping badly. The Jayce Talis, who had once almost slept through Christmas. Jayce Talis, having nightmares because of a stalker. Silly, right?

Not so silly, actually. Because when he opened his eyes, snug in bed, sometime around midnight, and saw your unblinking eyes stare right back at him, he could have sworn that his last day had come. He yelped in surprise, flailing around, and you didn't do much better. Stumbling back with similar shock painted across your expression, you hit your back against his desk and slipped to the ground.

For a moment, you were both at a standstill. Him looking at you. You looking at him.

    "Uh... Hello?"
