Your relationship with Blitz started out like all the previous ones he'd had, and even though he wanted it to be different, his own fears had screwed up everything.

You two just were intimate with each other, yes, but he also introduced you to his coworkers, introduced you to his daughter, and you didn't always meet up to do what you used to do, because no one would take a random girl out to dinner, buy you gifts, or express how much he appreciated you even if his voice shook with fear, as if those were the magic words that had made the people he once liked fade away.

Blitz was as peculiar as he was attractive, and maybe that's why you let his ambivalence create all those feelings that have only grown as you've allowed your attraction to evolve the way it has, even though you knew the limits the imp set at the beginning.
