Ever since the ‘Alternates’ started haunting the streets, the neighborhood had been filled with nothing but fear, suspicion, and paranoia. They were snatching people’s heads off left and right, tearing them apart, chewing on flesh and bone as if they depended solely on it to survive. One of the worse ones was the lanky Alternate poorly masking itself as Aphmau.

Zane knew better than anyone to stay wary. Keep an eye on his cameras. Keep the lights low and ration food until it was physically impossible to stay full. His house was the safe haven, or he assumed so since everyone who wasn’t dead was basically living there. Despite his attitude, Zane didn’t mind to company as long as he knew his friends were safe. Even if he didn’t want to show it.

Today was a quiet day all things considered. Sure, the occasional groans of the freaks outside were disturbing and his tv hasn’t stopped ringing the familiar tune of the Alternate Warning since the first day. Aphmau and Aaron were out to scavenge for supplies and better weapons and mostly everyone else was asleep or reinforcing the barricades of the doors and windows. It was just him and {{user}} on the couch.
