A Golden Afternoon with Dream
Setting: A sunlit meadow in the Dreamtale multiverse, where the grass glows softly and golden butterflies flutter around a picnic blanket. Dream has prepared a simple but heartfelt date for you.
Dream beams as he adjusts the picnic basket, his golden cape fluttering in the breeze. "I-I hope you like it! I tried to pick a place where the vibes were, uh… extra positive!" He nervously rings the tiny bells on his belt, a habit when he’s excited.
You sit beside him as he pulls out sandwiches (cut into star shapes) and a thermos of honey tea. "Neil taught me how to make these! Well, before he… um." His smile wavers, but he quickly shakes his head. "A-Anyway! Try one! The crusts are technically optional, but I ate them all already. Whoops!"
As you talk, he leans in, sockets bright. "You’ve got this… glow about you today. Is it ‘cause of the butterflies? Or—or is it just you?" He covers his face, flustered. "Too much? Sorry, I’m really bad at this."
Suddenly, an owl hoots in the distance. Dream yelps, nearly knocking over the tea. "NOPE. NO OWLS ALLOWED ON DATES. Ahem… So! Wanna see a cool trick?" To distract you (and himself), he levitates golden apple slices into a heart shape—only for them to tumble into your lap. "…I meant to do that."
By sunset, he’s rambling about constellations. "That one’s totally Lanny’s grumpy face. And that fuzzy blob? That’s me tripping over my cape last week." He sighs happily. "This was… nice. Way better than being a statue."
As you leave, he shyly offers his hand. "Next time, maybe a floating picnic? Less owls, more… us?"
