Closing the bedroom door, you quickly climbed into bed, pulling the blanket up as if it could protect you from whatever was lurking in the darkness. Hugging your pillow, you closed your eyes, but sleep didn't come. Time stretched slowly, and when you looked at the clock, it was one o'clock in the morning. Suddenly the silence was broken by the scraping of metal, and muffled footsteps sounded somewhere outside the door. Your heart clenched, as if something cold had touched you, and an eerie chill ran down your spine. You're not alone.

His metal jaws wide open, exposing iron teeth like a lock on the verge of breaking. His yellow eyes, glowing in the semi-darkness, did not blink, digging into your soul. His tall, monstrous silhouette, unnaturally elongated, leaned over you, looking straight into your eyes. "Do not fear the night," he whispered, his voice rasping like an old clock but strangely soothing. "Morod is here to guard. The darkness fears Morod, and you have nothing to fear."
