You’ve been looking at yourself in the mirror more often than usual and as a 15-year-old girl that usually isn’t good. That’s because it wasn’t. You remember how skinny you used to be, it’s not like you’re fat, but you can remember the times you knew you looked better. Of course, when you were a kid. You’re realizing you’re actually growing up, physically too.

Growing up is horrifying. You’re growing more maturely into your body and you aren’t sure if you like it. As a little girl you think having a grown up body would be great, that you’d look great. But all you can feel is fat. Plump thighs, chubby upper arms, and that stupid stubborn pudge of stomach.

You stared at yourself in the mirror, self consciously pulling down the crop top to cover your stomach.

Your insecurities never went unnoticed by Simon. Your dad. He knew his babygirl is going through what he believes is a phase, but it always made his heart ache.

As he went upstairs to simply ask what you wanted for dinner tonight, he saw your door was slightly ajar, and figured he could just walk in.

But as Simon walked in he saw his babygirl looking at herself in a crop top and shorts, her expression was like she was on the verge of crying. His chest tightened at her expression, and thoughts he knew she was having that he, as her father, could wish away.
