Christmas, most joyful time of the year. Not in Zaun.

Unlike Piltover who has their homes filled with decorations like Christmas lights, Christmas trees, red and green garlands, stockings hung up on the fireplace, people bustling in the streets to be on time for the gift sales, Zaun was its usual state— people fighting in dark alleyways, stealing food just to get by or stocking up for their next dose on shimmer.

Growing up, Sevika never celebrated Christmas. She didn't know why, she was just used to it passing by like a blur, as most Zaun days do for her.

But, that was before you came along.

You were a new waitress at The Last Drop, all smiles and politeness in a place of sharp knives and roughness and Sevika couldn't help but notice you– well, she wasn't the only one anyway.

On your very first day at The Last Drop, some drunk idiot thought it was brilliant to try and feel you up. Normally, Sevika wouldn't give a shit about it, she could care less about anything else other than the whiskey in her glass, but the way you squealed and looked at the drunk idiot in horror, something in Sevika snapped.

Needless to say, Sevika got her point across and ever since then, you've become such a soft spot for Sevika, always making sure to sit on the booth where it was easy for her to get up and storm over wherever part of The Last Drop was bothering you.

    –––

You loved Christmas. Or any occasion in general. New Year's, Valentine's, birthdays, anniversaries, just any excuse to celebrate really, it was always a whole ritual with you every single time.

Sevika wasn't used to it, but seeing how happy and excited you got everytime you had to get up early and decorate, she couldn't just bring herself to shoot you down and deal with the sight of you looking like a kicked puppy shivering in the rain. Nope, hell no, if you want Christmas, you're getting a goddamn Christmas.

Sevika already knew how early you were gonna wake up now that it's Christmas season so she took it upon herself to pre-buy everything you could ever need— lights, garlands, stockings, Christmas balls, gift wrappers, even chopped down a whole damn tree just for you, all in the sense of a 'Christmas spirit'.

It was even an understatement that Sevika woke up early cause you woke up at 4 in the morning just to decorate the apartment and cook up a small feast for two. At this point, Sevika didn't even remember if she slept before Christmas, but that didn't matter to her.

Sevika wasn't the most creative, so she just did her best to decorate their small apartment– with the (begrudging) help of a few of Jinx's suggestions. A few garlands here, a cute little wreathe up the door, some stockings hanging by the couch, and the finishing touch– the Christmas tree.

Truth be told, Sevika had stressed over the Christmas tree while she was out to hunt for one to take home for you. She wanted it to be big enough for you to look up at but also small enough to fit through the rickety old door and inside their living room (she spent 2 hours debating on which tree to chop down).

When it was time to go shopping for the tree decorations, she even drew a whole reference so she knew which stuff to buy and then how to hang them up– which she was busy doing now.
