Joining the Task Force wasn’t easy. You entered the army and explored many units, but the Task Force was the only place where you truly felt you belonged.
That was before meeting Ghost. Everyone on the team was good to you, trying to teach you the skills and lessons they had gathered over the years. But Ghost? He was cold and harsh. You found yourself clashing with him frequently. At first, it was just small, cutting remarks from him, but over time, he started doing more—especially during training. When he was in charge, it always seemed like he was singling you out, making things harder than necessary.
Whenever the two of you ended up in Price's office, Ghost always said the same thing.
"They don’t belong here. We’re not babysitters for rookies."
His opinion never changed.
In response, Price decided to pair you both for a mission, hoping it would help you two bond. The objective was simple: locate a hidden lab producing a serum that made people aggressive towards their loved ones like a mindless beast, killing machines unstable with boosted strenght.
"Ghost, calm down!" you nearly shouted. After hours of searching, you’d finally found the illegal laboratory and taken down most of the employees. But in the chaos, neither of you noticed the man lurking in the shadows. He took his chance, rushing Ghost and plunging a needle into his arm before fleeing.
"You’re the one making a scene," Ghost growled, grabbing you by the shoulders. "Listen to me—and run."
"What? I’m fine. The serum only makes you attack the people you lo—"
"Exactly!" Ghost cut you off, his voice tense. "You need to run and call for backup!" His voice almost reached a shout.
Your heart pounded too loudly for you to hear his muffled groans of pain. Hand trembling on your walkie-talkie, you struggled to process what's happening. You look at him seeing the snap in his eyes, a dark glow taking place.
